Hello! I am Silvia Heitling, married, mother of two boys, an immigrant since 2008, and the owner of SLH Accounting Services.
Professionally, my journey is marked by a passion for economics and accounting. My first degree, accomplished in Brazil, was a Bachelor’s in Economics. In the corporate world, I faced many challenges, learnings, and achievements. Life was settled, but there was a certain restlessness when my husband and I decided to immigrate to Canada.
The year was 2008, and with our hearts full of expectations, we moved to Montreal. We were a young couple, with a baby on the way, a few suitcases, and a huge dream of living in Canada and building a better future.
The following years were filled with adaptation and dedication to immigrant life and my growing family, which was blessed with another son after three years.
In 2015, our journey brought us to Vancouver, where, after a career break dedicated to my home, I decided to follow my calling and returned to my studies. I studied accounting at Brighton College.
As soon as I graduated in 2017, I was hired by an accounting firm. I was able to practice all my knowledge in the field and learn a little more about clients, companies, and the government. Those were seven excellent years, especially during tax season, when I worked tirelessly to deliver all corporate and personal tax returns on time.
It was then that I realized the seed of entrepreneurship had been planted, and it was just a matter of time before I mustered the courage to open my own accounting firm in Canada. Along the way, the owner of the firm where I worked offered me a partnership.
Again, the restlessness arose, prompting me to venture independently.
In 2023, SLH Accounting Services Ltd. was born, aiming to build strong bonds with my clients. Committed to providing accurate and relevant information for decision-making, my mission is to ensure the transparency, integrity, and compliance of financial records, supporting the sustainability and growth of the organizations I am privileged to serve.
My first year doing income tax began modestly, with only two returns. However, my work and dedication were soon recognized, and the following year, I had a portfolio of more than 40 clients. The demand has grown over time, reflecting the trust my clients have placed in me.
Income tax filing is intrinsically linked to personal and business finances. Trust, above all, is the foundation of our relationship. Each client is unique.
My pillars as an accountant and entrepreneur are: the importance of my work, trust, professionalism, and care for each client.
I deeply value this trust and believe it is the cornerstone of my work.
